Playa Blanca is a thriving and busy fishing village. As well as the great beaches, there are plenty of banks, supermarkets, chemists, doctors, hairdressers, plus shops, restaurants and bars galore. There is a local church service most Sundays. You will also be able to book excursions around the island, water taxis to Papagayo beaches plus take the ferry to Fuerteventura. Watersports abound, with plenty of choice for diving, sailing, fishing and snorkelling. The best surf is in Famara. Taxis are very common and cheap. There is a regular bus service that operates throughout Playa Blanca, plus another service to other island towns.
